In need of a new 2.1 system.

Hi,

It appears my current 5.1 system is dieing, Im getting loud and constant buzzing and hissing from my speakers. fun fun.

Anyway, Im after a new 2.1 system, primarily for music & gaming.
Also need to connect my XBOX 360 to it.
Budget around £60-£80 max.
The ambx stuff any good?

Still in need here.
Been looking into bookshelf speakers as apparently they give better sound.
Is a Cambridge Audio A1/A5 and Tannoy F1`s or 902i speakers (cant remember the make of these) a good combo?

902i's are probably the Mordaunt Shorts - I personally prefer these and I've heard them (although not the Tannoy's). Yeah I think that would be a good combo as long as you don't want a sub. Some people find the bass lacking if they're used to PC speaker systems.

I'm about 90% certain you can plug your 360 into any amplifier I'm not sure if you'd need another cable though (probably only a couple of quid).

Not sure how you would be able to connect to the PC and also an Xbox, probably makes your speaker options a lot shorter, if you had a budget of £100 then the Logitech Z400's are the better option, and gives you high detailed sounds at all times

You can connect more to an amplifier than other speakers or at least anything you can plug into z400's - I'm pretty certain can be plugged into an amp.
