In need of a new Router.

Hi,

My 2-3 year old Netgear DG834GT has died on me and Im forced to use my "BeBox" router which so far is proving to be abit rubbish.

Whats a good router to replace it with?
Heavy internet usage, gaming, downloads and some wireless use.

I have a Netgear DG834GT at the moment! Might be worth getting the same model if it was OK.

Other than that I would suggest Linksys, as they are Cisco really

Are you on ADSL2+ if so then its best to get a router with a broadcom chipset to get the best speed from your line. My ISP has a list of routers and their ADSL2+ performance http://adsl24.co.uk/support/adsl2plus/

I've had this router for years and never had a problem with it! Also got Tomato on it now. Rock solid!

One tiny flaw, that's a Cable router and OP is after an ADSL router. I know there is an ADSL equivalent to what you've linked to but for the life of me I can't remember what the model number is.

Plenty of people here have recommended the Linksys AM200 modem combined with the WRT54GL.

i got the "belkin wireless g plus" , connected laptop, pc and wii with no issues at all,

simple but effective (and cheap lol)

Any modem that has either ADSL or Cable input which outputs to RJ45 (not USB) will be compatible
