Hi all

Randomly today my screen started flicking all the time, and then totally black.

I see all the boot text normally, but as soon as windows boots, the monitor looses signal and the power goes to standby.

I connected my ipad as a display via USB and that can pick up signal and work fine.

The graphics card outputs up to windows loading (display port connection)

So logic dictates it has to be drivers.

I have gone into safe mode, removed the drivers, restarted, clean installed latest drivers, booted back to normal...it still doesnt work...

Im out of ideas here, so can anyone help?

Have you tried any of the other ports?
Is it overclocked?
All power connections fine?
Any other pcie slots to test?

Wtf... That is so weird.

Run a few tests that will utilise the graphics card to make sure though.

Glad it resolved itself.

Hi guys,

So i was using the pc for several hours no issue. and then suddenly, screen goes black and doesnt get signal anymore again.

I really dont see whats causing this, but its rendering the pc unusable, so i need to buy a new graphics card or something? its clearly the drivers, but a clean install of the latest ones is causing issues...

Clean install of windows and a bios update. If that doesn't solve it, then its time to start doubting your card. Try it in another machine if the clean OS gets you no where.

Also, is your OS windows 10 by any chance?

i dont really have time for an OS install, this is my work PC, and yes win 10, its 100% obviously nvidia drivers, but i cant see how its fixable

I heard windows 10 likes to do auto installs and such for drivers. Could it be possible that the driver stops working and is then re-downloaded automatically to be reinstalled in a loop?

Probably not win10 fault but try switching off any auto driver updates and stuff.
