Hello

I used this cheaper paste on my Q6600 3 days ago. i have a freezer 7 pro. Ive clocked the cpu now to 3ghz, and my idle temps were originally at 41/42, but now they have dropped to around 37/38 max idle, with it still under the 50's in load situations.

This cheaper paste has really done its job, and has settled nicely. i recomend this to everyone, as it acts just as good if not better than the much more expensive AS.

yeah i saw a thread on another forum with a list of lots of different pastes and what temperature reults each gave under the same conditions, this was the third best, beating AS5 buy about 2c if i remember correctly.

Yep, MX-1 is superb. I used to use AS 5 but found MX-1 to produce better results and it's a lot easier to use too.

I'm using it with my Q66/AC Pro 7 running at 3.0 gig, temp is currently around 51C full load :)

In what way did you apply the MX-1 paste? Have a tube and might give it a try. Do I apply in the same way as AS5 i.e. ina line down the center of the cpu heatspreader?

Yeah thats the way i did it, and just let the heatsink spread it by twisting it a bit before securing it in place, works fine for me.

I'll be applying my MX1 tommorrow, hoping to see a decrease in temperatures obviously. Just wondering is that definately the best way to go about it? By putting a small line down the cpu in what thickness? and onto the AC7 also? But spreading it out on the heatsink so its almost a haze right?
