In saerch for "In Flames'alikes"

I love In Flames to bits.
What I like most is the fact that they are (in my opinion quite heavy) but still VERY melodic. Screamy/with a good tune.

Searching for similar bands at the moment, but can't say that I know of too many.

Any suggestions ?

try opeth, especially the album "the drapery falls" very melodic but also has the harsh metal sound with it.

Of course not as harsh as in flames but then inflames are like no other band I've ever heard. not exactly anyway

Atreyu?

Emo roots i know, but whenever i listen to In Flames i have Atreyu loaded up to. Melodic screams very similiar IMO to In Flames.

EDIT: Later stuff is more 'melodic', A Deathgrip on Yesterday and The Curse are to more 'listenable' albums.

Atreyu are basically a mega watered down version of Darkest Hour who in turn are basically At the Gates meets thrash.

So yeah, Darkest Hour and At the Gates.

Cool not heard of these bands will check em out. I really like the catchiness of Atreyu, both the riffs and 'singing' gets stuck in my head all the time. They sound very similiar to In Flames to me.

Neither of those bands have any singing and/or could be deemed conventionally catchy, but they're both pretty brutal and they both rule.
