*** In Stock Now Sapphire 5770 Vapor X ***

I was set on buying two of these and calling it quits until dx11 rnd 2 but have just picked up a 4870x2 at a good price :)

Didn't realise the 5770 was about the same power as a 4870, o well still saved nearly £100.

Same or a little better than a 4870 but with DX11 (obviously) and cooler running (even the normal versions) and a lot less power hungry. My rig in siggy with a 4870 pulled a max of 274w full load, 161w idle (at the wall). With the 5770 it's 242w max load and 122w idle.

To me that cooler looks like a cut down Intel stock cooler with a shroud stuck on it.

WAs thinking it looked intel esque too....

Aside from the obvious benefits of lower heat and noise output and lower consumption of power (plus being dx11 ready), would two of these be a more of a side grade vs a 4870X2? I've seen some benchmarks but they vary a little.

Mostly is a side-grade yes. But thats a lot of large positives you are throwing at the wayside there.

I don't know how overclockable the 4870x2 is but these can hit 1ghz core and 1.4ghz mem (if its got the volterra chips which is why im asking).

Well I guess they would make a sensible purchase but I don't intend to keep hold of them for very long, not as long as I would keep a card for normally anyway.

Its either these as a quick 'upgrade' or a 260gtx until the spring. Thing is a dx11 title is out in January so I best grab a couple of these I suppose. One just won't cut it.

Anyone know if two cards in xfire are smoother than a dual gpu card or is there no difference?

These scale better than the 4870 so going from slightly behind and around the 4870 it goes ahead and reaches 5870 terratory quite often.

Add the overclocking into the mix with MSI's afterburner program and they take off.

What size and res u game at ??

Well I've got a HD 4870 512MB and even at 1920x1200 its running my games fine so benchmarking aside theres no compelling reason to buy one of these just yet . . . does look cool though! :D

I'm suprised nobody has bought these and posted a little review in this thread yet

If I had the money I would do, but I don't so I can't. :( Want an upgrade from my 4850 and this looks perfect, especially for mATX / Mini-ITX set up.

OcUK could always send me one to review. ;)

I am sure they send you one to review.. you just have to pay them £139.99! :p

Btw, would this be a good upgrade from a 8800GTX? Or would it not be that much difference in performance? (Part from the DX11)

Well it's roughly in between the 4870 and 4980, so go look at benchmarks of those against your card and you're about there. :)
