Inspired by the other thread doing the rounds. It got me thinking, say in the not to distant future we successfully make and market a cost viable synthetic humans (almost life like robots) for the masses, say there went for the price of a family car. How would it impact us humans?

The applications are obvious:

Armies that never sleep and never get tired

Medical personal that can work round the clock and never make a mistake (open to opinion that one)

And the biggy, synthetic partners. The amount of threads here about women behaving badly and the men that are fed up with them, would these sort of people be tempted by this?

Of course there will be many here who'll say that'd they would prefer a real woman that they can talk to and have a personality and have kids with.

But of course they'd come with full blown AI so most of the time you'd fool yourself into thinking you're talking to a living soul. And they would basically live out any fantasy you desire, look anyway you want them to look. Never make you life horrible and look after you and never stress you out. There's some i guess out there that there are some men that are not interested in becoming fathers but want a stress free relationship. I reckon a lot of men who would say now that they wouldn't, in the future if such a thing became available would think about it, i think i would!

So here comes the flip side of the coin, where would that leave real women if they become incredibly popular with men? How would they complete against something that is a wizz in the kitchen, a depraved whore in the bedroom and always loving towards you? Would society break down? Would birth rates plummet as men decide to go for the easy life? Would women try to improve there attitude and drop the 'girl power' crap? Or would they rebel and try to get them banned?

Just some random thoughts for the afternoon :D

I wonder what my wife would say or do if I bought one and said it was to keep me company in the study. :D

I think that fembots will become acceptable and will be used as sex toys. But i don't think they will replace women although they might be used in a relationship by certain people. ie ugly , controlling or unable to trust women.

I don't think we would have fembots in armies. For a long time they wouldn't surpass a person and I don't think it could get the funding needed to improve them enough. I would say improving a human soldier will be the continued focus for quite a while.

With a lifesize robotic ****-doll. With a bigger **** than you.

:D

Hmm
I think the only way they would be a total replacement for a real female companion is if their AI was highly advanced.

But then that could potentially create a stepford wives situation.
