*** in trouble no power to pc ***

Do you have anything to prove that you got your stuff from there?

As for PSUs dying, it all depends on who makes them and even then they can just stop working from time to time. Generally the better manufacturers use higher quality materials in their PSUs so these generally don't fail as often.

did you wire it up right

nope all i can find out is when i got it, i've got a print out of the shopping cart. but we went to pick the stuff up

Did they take your name for warranty purposes? If so then they will have a record along with a list of the items you bought. If not then it may still be possible that you can match up the list of items against their records providing you can give them a day and an approximate time, that said I have no idea how advanced their receipt systems are so it may not be possible.

Do you have another PSU that you can test your system with? It could be an internal poly-fuse to the PSU, I know the manual doesn't mention them but if you leave it for a few hours to give it a chance to reset(if it exists at all and/or the PSU isn't completed shafted) it might be worth trying it again.

I took my whole pc to overclockers. they wanted me to take the psu out so they can test it, they cant do this becuase its not theirs I cant take it appart on the desk because they are not insured.
so I have to take it back home no mention of a receipt needed. I took my psu out, god knows how much stuff I broke in the process. took it back in. they sent me packing with it again saying they couldn't do anything without the reciept. If its not the psu I have to keep bringing parts in again for them to test. i'm a complete computeraphobe. this is not on overclockers. its a good job I live quite close, if it was an internet delivery how far could I live from the place? how am i to transport sensitive components like the mobo ram cpu up and down without damaging them?

With difficulty.
Boxes are a pain (I expect a few of us on here get moaned at for keeping them)

Did you buy this as parts or?
It's not so much the boxes, but the anti static bags that are inside.

Lets hope it's the PSU.

Thinking...you test a PSU like this. (but wait)

If yours is a 24 pin, its the pins below...

Sorry to hear you're having trouble getting OcUK to test the parts - although this is understandable.

It does only seem like its a PSU problem as I said yesterday.
