Inbuilt VNC Client

Is it me or is the inbuilt VNC client quite laggy (slow).

I am currently connecting to a Ubuntu machine which is connected by 1Gb connection to my router which I am connecting to from my MacBook via Wireless-N (router is about 1m away).

...is it supposed to be slightly laggy or can it be improved if I used a different program?

i also found it to be pap, i use LogMeIn now and it kicks the arse off the inbuilt one

It doesn't even have a full-screen mode (????), so I'd say it's crappy as clients go.

I use jolly fast vnc which is pretty good I find. Not tried logmein though.
