On friday I was in an incident after drinking where i was wound up in a taxi window, it drove off and I broke it to save myself from further injury.

I was taken to hospital (deep cut to my right wrist) then the local station and charged with criminal damage

His story differs from mine, in that he is saying and ran after his taxi and punched it in. I have bruising and a red line on my left arm, which is the one he trapped in the window

What happens from here as I obviously should have released my arm from the window but his story is different to mine. He apparently has 3 witnesses, all taxi drivers, backing up his story.

If you explained the incident perhaps we could understand the situation further. To me it looks like you were being a *** and the taxi driver has troll'd you.

What actually happened, then? How did you end up in his window where he was then able to wind it up?!

Speaking to the driver I put my head through the passenger side of the window and rested my left arm on the on the window, with the other half of my arm in the window. The taxi driver wound the window up and I remember getting caught. The taxi drive down the street, me facing the rear of the taxi. As it speeded up I lifted my feet off the floor and fearing the taxi would speed up or run me over, I punched the window with my right hand 3 times. This broke the window and I fell to the floor but cut my right wrist quite badly.

I have this vision of the taxi pulling away with your hand stuck in the window running alongside it. More details are required.

And exactly how aggressively were you 'speaking' to the taxi driver in your drunken state?

If you spoke to the taxi driver did he explain why he drove off or do you know why the taxi driver may have driven off with you still in the window?

I'm not sure, but I did have enough money to get home so not sure why I would have been abusive.

Seeing that I was stuck in the window he should not have drove off with me trapped in it

Sounds like it is going to be a bit of a he said she said situation. I would get some friends to back up your version of the events. From my experience of taxi drivers I wouldn't be surprised if you also kicked dints in both the bumpers, gave the passengers in the back (all his family members) whiplash and urinated on his dead grandmother with, of course, all 3 witnesses to back him up. Good luck.

Is that all you can remember ? Two lines ?

Let me see who I should side with ? :D

lol @ skillmister

This is looking like a Friday night with a bit too much of alcohol. Just accept what happened, move on and ensure you don't do the same again.

Try speak to the cab driver and ask him to drop any charges and pay to get his window fixed.

Ive already been charged and spend the night in a cell. I said I didnt mind paying the excess for the window (£75) because I did break it. He also said he lost £100 worth of earnings.

However I could have died if he drove off and I didnt break the window to free myself. What would he be charged with if that did happen?

Other than taxi drivers and you did anyone else see the incident? You don't seem to know much of why he drove off with you in the window unless he just did. Any CCTV around? I am sure the cops wouldn't have charged you if they didn't have the full story from start to finish!
