Hi guys,
Im pretty much a newbie when it comes to creating websites.
Im having a go at creating a new site for work and would like to add some images to it, i particularly like how the images are shown on this site http://www.prestburygolfclub.com/ Im presuming this is by using flash? I dont particularly like flash on websites, but i think that works well.
My question is, how can I do something like on my site?
Thanks

It is using flash yes, but you can get the same effect by using JQuery and some associated plugins.

I would start by looking at JQuery, and if that looks too complicated you can always look at Wordpress, that has some modules that allow the same sort of functionality.

there is a nivo slider plugin for wordpress...so, that would be the way I would attempt this.
You need a mysql database and php for wordpress to work however I reckon the benefits outweigh the disadvantages!

erm..right. where to start!
Wordpress is now almost a complete CMS in that it will manage all your content and site design. If you've got a site already then wordpress probably isn't going to help you...

lol, okie dokie, thanks 3d. I like the look of nivoslider at the moment. Im just struggling to get it to work. Its quite tough to understand for my little brain. If i posted the source code, could someone talk me through where i need to put the relative code?
Thanks

ya im using 'kompozer'

Heres the website i need nivo slider going on, im guessing you can view the source on there, if not let me know, please bare in mind its only a draft copy, So there are one or 10 bugs. I am wanting to put the pictures on the http://www.biggamidlandsection.com/website4/course.html page I dont really like what i have at the moment. (clicking the link to 'pictures')
Thanks for your help.

This isnt the final domain name neither. It will be uploaded to www.trenthamparkgolfclub.com as soon as its ready. I hope my site looks a little better than whats there at the moment.

right, i got a few things to wrap up first before I take a look...did you want it to replace the picture that is there already, just above the title course overview?

You need to load the jquery library too, I'll put it in for you on that page if you want?
You need to modify the css file (style.css) and I can do that too if you want...

Let me know and once I've a free half and hour I'll get it sorted!

Yes mate, that would be perfect. This way i can get rid of the links part on the right hand side. Is there any chance you could talk me through what you have done when your finished? Because it would be good to learn how to do it myself.
Thanks
