I Just moved into a house with internal ethernet wiring, all the cables inside the cabinet are cat5e that go off to the rooms from the patch panel, but some rooms only connect at 100Mbps and others 1gb.
One of the rooms downstairs that I'm using as an office is right below where the cabinet is, so the run of cable should be pretty short and that's a room where I can only connect at 100Mbps
I'm not experienced in internal ethernet wiring, so all I can think of is that the connections at either the patch panel end or to the sockets in rooms are not quite right?
Just wanted to ask before I start pulling off faceplates or I need to check something else.
TIA.
