I have a BT broadband hub with wireless. I am trying to increase the range/area covered by the wireless network. What is the best way of increasing the range? I am limited by position on the telephone line socket and cable length as to where to put the BT hub.
I cannot change the aerial on the hub as it is built-in and has no plug to attach a aftermarket aerial.

What would be the best way of increasing the range? Purchasing a access point like the Dlink DWL-2100ap and putting it at the near edge of the current range of BT hub?. If so what mode would I configure it (2100ap)? As a access point, universal repeater etc?

Or getting a more powerful wireless router plugging it into the BT hub and switching off the wireless of the BT hub and using a newer better wireless router? If that is the best option what is the best/most powerful wireless router available?
Thanks in advance guys :)

buy a new router

homehub has cack wireless, it can't get through 1 wall in my mum's house the both the linksys and draytek can get through about 3 walls (and then some) in the same place.

That router is pretty good, the output power can be cranked up signficantly, it may work better on its side if you have it upright or vice versa.

See http://bt2700hgv.tripod.com/ir1002700HGV.htm for some excellent info on this model (theres several variants) and the various options you have

If you can wire another access point to the business hub by ethenet cable any access point would do, I dont thing the hub itself can be configured to connect to an access point/repeater wirelessly.

In the same situation i atached a homeplug to the router then a homeplug with wifi access point and switch at the other end
