Yeah the number of monitors I've seen from Samsung and others that are glossy on the inside... I think it's just easier for them to produce. I'm pretty used to it now but I first noticed it on the Samsung XL2370 and thought "whose idea was this?"

Not an engineer, or an end user, that`s for sure. It was either an accountant or one of those "arty types".
