Incredible video, the realword difference between 480 & 5970

I would love to see some real world benchmarks of min fps as im sure the gap isn't quite as big, granted there may well be a gap but just how big a gap I would like to know.
The raw power of the 480 comes at a cost and that's power consumption but as you can see who cares when it's besting a dual GPU card, the fastest in the world no less.

In reality, I would prefer 2 x GTX 460 2GB cards than a GTX 480. Anyone who says otherwise needs their head checking.
Even then, 4 x 5770s would give them a run for their money in terms of bang for your buck.

I stumbled across some 480 v 5970 vids on the tube and he came to the conclusion that a number of others have, that the 480 is smoother and has better mins than the 5970, 5970 suffered from a lot of micro stuttering apparently.
I watched the first video and cannot see much of stuttering at all. It happened on few occasions in both frames and I believe the game is CPU limited judging by the framerates count. I'll have a look at the second video in a minute.
What the hell is this fabled microstutter people keep harping on about?
Can it be video'd or is it all in the mind?
It can be filmed with a camera but not fraps or similar I would think.
Ok Raven, I just watched the second video and here's my conclusion. With the so-called microstuttering you need slightly higher framerates to experience smoothness in the gameplay. In Metro 2033 it turns out to be more or less 10 fps because the actual picture was a little laggy when frames were dropping to 30 fps or so on 5970 and 20 fps on 480. Other then that the gameplay and stuttering looked identical to me, 480 suffered from the same issues but at lower framerates. Tbh these videos made me think that I can live with dual-GPU setup and will probably purchase a second 5850 instead of waiting for 6000 series or moving towards Fermi. I have to watch more actual gameplays and get my hands on a dual-GPU setup to see it myself.
Well the guy was actually playing the games and if he says it micros stutters and is not as smooth as the 480 well I'll go with his conclusions, he has owned many ATI and Nvidia cards over the years, he has no bias to any one brand. If you can't tell that the 5970 was skipping like crazy at 30 fps or below then you need some eye tests ASAP.
I watch both the vids
1) The mins were not better.
2) I have absolutely without any doubt in my mind that you have not got a clue about microstutter because there was none in those vids, the stuttering that you witness is not microstutter, its low frame rate stutter. " hello frame buffer we have moved on a bit from what the GPU in struggling to render jump to current point & skip frames & i don't get even that stutter in any game i play.

Just posting up a vid with a very experienced hardware reviewer benching a 480 v 5970, he says it micro stutters, I agree. I mean watch GTA look at the trees and the cars skipping frames and then compare it to the smoothness of the 480. A few peps on here should have went to specsavers, mainly the dual GPU/card users.

I don't gave a damn what he says because what is shown is not micro stutter & skipping more or less frames is still not a sign of micro stutter either.
micro stutter is uneven frames not skipped frames, as i said you ain't got a clue.

Yeah the 480 holds up very well at max rez against a card with two high end GPU's.

Were you watching different videos from the ones i was watching as the 5970 smoked it in all 3 videos posted by JeffyB.
How many fps is he recording at because the 5970 & 480 smoothness was awful in those vids & i would not accept playing any game like that.

Yeah, I may need an eye correction but it doesn't change a fact that you clearly don't understand what microstuttering is and that you're a sheep.
