I was having a conversation with someone the other night, and for some reason we got to talking about planes. I remember a BBC documentary from not that long ago where the presenter(s) flew to an ice sheet in Antarctica to place detectors so the movement of the ice could be measured by satellites. What i want to know is: what was the plane? It was quite old, might have been red in places. The only other thing i can remember is that this might have been frozen planet.

I know this is probably not going to get answered, but it's worth a shot. Thanks!

Actually it was 2months ago now it came out, Chris Packham was the presenter so if that sounds right it might be the one. I cant remember if it had a plane in it tbh, only saw one - but if I see it before you Ill post...

ps3ud0

If it was in the Antarctic then it was most likely the BAS that flew it and they fly a few small twin otters as well as a larger Dash 7. They are all painted red. Pics here:

Still not sure that's what i remember, but it's good enough for me, thanks! :D It will probably come to me years down the line when i happen to come across it channel flicking. Those twotters do look sexy in red...
