One of the posters on that forum works for Jaypee Int. who are the construction company responsible, he says:

There were around 4500 workers on the site as per chief site engineer..also, 2000 more workers will be joining in .....in next 2-3 weeks....

According to the engineers and ME....site will be ready by october this year....and its good they got 2 months extension.....

Work on the site is really world class....workers and engineers are simultaneously working on many fronts.

Special separate team is working on Landscaping in and around circuit. .... which includes 2 large ponds or lakes ....grass hills..variety of flora ...etc etc...

It will be a glass structure...media centre and officials centre are near completion ...

Roof will take another 2 months to be completely ready and bucket seats will be installed by the time roofing ends...
It's a good job that the date for the GP got pushed back as it looks rather unfinished still, possibly why they're drafting in another 2000 workers to make sure it's done in the next 4 months.

Looks as though they wouldn't have had a shot in hell of getting that done in time had it not been moved!

Saying that it's quite incredible how quickly these things can move along sometimes.

Doesn't look very finished at all, only just putting the roof on for example? Any pics of the actual track, is the tarmac put down?

Given what a hash the indians made of the commonwealth games, I wouldn't be surprised if this doesn't get finished on time or is very rushed and shoddy quality.

I think I'm right in saying the commonwealth games was the local authority and this is a private enterprise. So should be all good in the hood come D-Day.

Is it just me or does this leave a slightly bad taste in the mouth? The country has millions living in poverty yet the giovernment sees fit to spend billions on hosting F1 when that money could be used to improve the lives of millions of impoverished people.

A bit like the Uk giving them money when they spend billions on nuclear weapons I guess, as that was a crazy decision too.

The Indian government spent billions on hosting F1? Really?
