Indian Tech support call back!

I put the phone down in the knowledge that i at least wasted her (and mine) time but she than rang me back to shout abuse at me and calling me an idiot for no knowing what an operating system was.
Cheeky cow, Anyone else have a similar thing?

Yep, i had a call back with abuse a few years back, i just burst out laughing down the phone at him until he hung up.

EDIT - I'd play along for a bit and after a bit i would play some porn really really loudly and then say it's their fault and i will sue them for making me see such things as I'm a good Muslim

i asked one to call me back on my mobile, he didnt want to but did it when i said had keep running up and down stairs when he wants me to do something, so i gave him a sexline number and he phoned me back 40 mins later to say thanks :D

The best thing to do in this situation is just say 'Hang on one second mate I 'll just get a pen.'

Then, leave the phone off the hook, make yourself a cup of tea, sit down and put your feet up, watch a bit of tv, and return to the phone about 20 mins later and hang up :D

I wish i would get one of these. Sounds like fun :p

I do a pretty mean King Julian impression (the Lemur from Madagascar) so i would probably just do that the whole phone call....and call the bloke Maurice.

Because almost all of the scammers are based in call centres in India?

I dont think that is factually correct but the still doesnt explain why it makes a difference.

Its essentially like saying they must be scam artists as they are Indian when that is total tripe.

Not wanting to derail the thread "just sayin"

Not all scammers are Indians, there's plenty of Nigerians too.

Well for one, once I registered with the TPF service I stopped getting nuisance calls from UK Call Centres. The only ones I do get now are from Indian Call Centres because they aren't obligated to obey UK law, plus they are trying scam techniques which would be deemed illegal here.

So ?

I dont understand why people feel the need to specifically point out a persons nationality like it makes a difference. Scam artist is a scam artist, their nationality is irrelevant.

Not if - as in this particular case - the scam originates from a particular country.

I've had a few of these, after the last one I flat out said "right I will stop you right there, I know for a fact this is a scam and I know for a fact that there is nothing wrong with my computer as I have recently done a fresh install, please don't ring me again or I will have to report you, good day" and hung up. The person rang back and started ****** and blinding at me saying that they werent scammers and how dare I suggest as such.

Idiots havent rung back since.

did you see that video on reddit a few weeks ago where the security specialist for network associates or similar sort of organization got a call and he recorded the conversation and set up an xp vm and recorded the session with screen cap tool. They basically tried to get money out of him and then you watch at the techy on the phone starts disabling all the services on the pc from msconfig so that when he reboots it does not work. effectively breaking is pc whilst on the phone.
