I'm getting a few virus infected e-mails sent to me (always picked up and cleaned by Avast), allegedly from mail delivery systems (usually hotmail) with the title 'Delivery status notification-failure'. I'm sure I don't have a virus/trojan sending out infected e-mails, having checked with Avast and Windows defender, so I'm wondering what's going on - has one of my contacts got an infected machine, or are the headers from these e-mails just spoofed

Just spoofed

We get hundreds of them here everyday, just delete them.

They are sending you an email to trick you into thinking an email you sent failed, so then you open it and open the attachment to see what it is and BANG! your infected.

However your not, so just delete.
