I got this in my inbox a few days ago. 40% discount off list price?! Part of me really wants to buy it outright, use it a few months and sell it on but I wonder if there is a viable re-sale market even if it is heavily discounted for the first buyer. Still, don't think I've ever seen such a hefty discount on a new car, let alone the top of the range

I don't know about the car but I have no idea who either of those owners are and therefore would have no wish to join their "ranks" if they're using that to try and sell it there's got to be a serious problem.

Wasn't there someone in here recently that couldn't even trade in their infiniti to an infiniti dealer?

Probably because they were discounting the new ones so much they could not afford to buy the used ones back lol

They may be struggling over there but they certainly aren't here

they're definitely not as popular in the UK (and possibly even Europe) as they are in Asia, Middle East and USA. I don't think they really thought about how the product would work here. 3.7L 15MPG SUV at a time when Oil prices were at their peak? Bad idea. 5.0 Litre 12MPG? even worse...

And then of course they started sourcing and using the 2.2D Mercedes Diesels... *facepalm*

Yeah engine choice is an issue, they don't really have an 'efficient' engine here, just doesn't seem like a good strategy in the UK except for the well off business people who want to turn up in something 'classy'

Or really very good.

I put 5000 miles on a brand new Q50 last year and I'm sorry but it just wasn't a very good car at all, let alone a 'premium' car.

The Q50 is absolutely dire. I took it for a 3 hour test drive and handed it back after 45 minutes. It did have the abysmal Merc 2.2D engine though but still the whole car just felt cheap and plasticky. The G37 by comparsion was solid and much more enjoyable

As I have said before on these forums. There is a reason why they are not popular and these crazy discounts they throw at anyone who even steps into a dealership don't fill anyone with confidence.
I walked away from a huge discount on a hybrid q50 that was old stock they simply could not shift and would try anything to get rid off.
Avoid..

Most people who want that kind of thing buy a Lexus. Which are just better.

Infiniti are pretty expensive for what they are (and ugly).

Quite fancy looking at some of the range them for replacement Taxis. Skoda are priced out of the game now. It is worth paying a little extra as they could double up as lower end executive.

We have a QX60 and it's pretty nice. I tried speccing up a similar sized German car and couldn't get anything close to the spec for the price.

Oh really? I've been thinking of taking one for a test drive. I've been looking at the Q50 Red Sport. I've heard a few people saying negative things about them. Maybe I'll avoid it.

They are getting rid of the QX70 3.0S stock because the current engines don't meet the EURO 6 regulations.
Ask me how I know, I test drove one on Sunday and was very close to doing a deal. They are really nice cars and the Premium S model I was looking at was up for £28k. The Ultimate just offers the body kit over the Premium.
I went in looking for a QX60 but found out they have discontinued it...they were selling stock cars for £23k :(
