Infinity Ward reply to backlash

I still maintain IW is FAR from stupid. They won't knowingly shoot themselves in to foot. Eventhough I'm not a MP player when it comes to COD (TF2, CSS and L4D takes too much time already), I'll certainly give this a go and see how it plays out.

One little incident which made me laugh. Asked a guy at work if he is getting MW2, he said no, he won't because they don't have dedicated servers. Asked him what exactly dedicated servers are ..... he had no clue. He just jumped on the bandwagon (mob mentality) and wanted to be offended about something he had no clue about. Obviously everyone here knows what they're on about (i hope), but there's many idiots out there with no clue what's going on, really.

I don't think the games will be laggy at all tbh and in that respect I think everybody is overreacting to the superiority of servers

I think the player count is of 9v9 is not an issue either its best suited to the types of maps played in Modern Warfare

Unfortunate we don't have admins to kick people anymore or mods but oh well not the end of the world and who knows maybe we will get dedicated servers or there will be a mix so newbies can do there matchmaking and dedi people can search the browser list, its possible :/

There are also many people who don't know that the game no longer has dedicated servers and will (if our doubts are true) be disappointed with the new system after being used to dedicated servers after 3 previous games.

So 9v9 is a by product of the smaller maps designed due to consoles.
I'm sure I'm not the only one, but this is one of the things I hated about CoD4 was the fact the maps seemed no where near as big and good as the ones in CoD1&2.

forgetting competative matches and clans, the game will probably still deliver a decent online blast for 'us' casual fps players.

the only reason I have not pre-ordered this version is because I want to read and hear proper reviews of the gameplay from people I know, I'm sure there are many PC players who are doing the same thing.

it's not 9v9 TDM is 6v6 only one game mode supports 9v9.

Think the biggest issue is the strain it will take on your conection, the upload will get packed and other users of the connection will not be too pleased. Will not buy this game, cant wait to l4d2 is out thoooo mm.

Stupid idea, COD is full of nabs anyway... The only good games on console are football games and beijing olympics.

So give us a demo and let's try it ;)

You're right. The video is very much "part with your cash and if you still don't like it we promise we maybe might fix it, probably".

If it really isn't as big a deal as everyone's seeing it then a multiplayer demo for the last two weeks would have nullified this whole thing.

would help if he knew what he was talking about lol

"we are all open ears for our game with peoples criticisms" good one

Lol at the comment posted below,

Wow this guy is awesome, I feel so much better about the game now, I think I might order 4 or maybe 5 PC copies, just so my friends and family can all see how awesome the IWnet will be!! I wonder if he took training classes from Tom Cruise at the Scientology Institute! Thank goodness I will be able to play this out of the box...well if I can figure out how to open the box that is, I've been really worried about that...papercuts, not being able to find the scissors, that really sticky label thing that holds the top closed...wonder if they will do something to help me with that?! I guess if I HAVE trouble then I can tell them right??... after I pay them the $60 and then they will help me open the box?! I'm also really glad to see that this guy found a job after the real estate market crashed. I'm sure he was devastated when he could no longer sell homes and adjustable mortgages to people who couldn't afford them and would later go to foreclosure. Glad he's found another line of work where he can be so up front and honest with his customers! NO DEDICATED SERVERS...NO MW2 PURCHASE!!! ~[DaDs]MustangSally~

Try and see for yourself statement seems a bit of a trap, taking into account that game is binded to your Steam account :p

Dedicated servers or not, IW.Net being better or not, the guy says "People are worried about things they think they're losing but actually not"

But they confirmed no custom map or mod support.

In conclusion I would like to state that this man is a liar and a scoundrel and I hope he gets fired and told that "He's worried about losing something he's actually not"

The main worry for me isn't the 9v9 if the maps are made smaller a la counterstrike - the problem I have is the removal of dedicated servers. Am I correct in assuming this is a kick in the teeth for modders, for instance? A huge part of the appeal of PC games for me is third party mods :(
