Inheritance worth fighting for??!!

By the sounds if you could be an Arab descent, and taking a stereotypical approach with the likes of mosque's and Muslim minorities in Britain they like to keep things "with in religion" or "with-in the mosque" is this the case of the lawyor you spoke to?

Could he be linked with the "mafia" of the mosque and trying to sway you away from doing anything?

The lawyer sounds like an idiot. You can't just speculate that someone is going to "die soon" based on the fact that they're 90 years old. He could outlive you, even. What is the point in pressing charges against anyone? They might die soon anyway?

Get a different lawyer. This man's age makes no difference to the fact that he is a criminal and should be in prison.

wow.

90/100 years old - it doesn't matter.

Get a proper/decent lawyer on to it and speak to the police about it as it's surely a criminal offence as well.

Wow very interesting thanks for that i will call my mam later on and see what she says and tell her this, anyone have any ideas on what else i could do to get as much evidence as possible agasint him before going to a specialist lawyer (links to any in newcastle?)..thanks

Bare in mind that was Canada and this is the UK.

I really couldn't start on where to offer my opinion, ideally yes fight it to death, but if professionals are telling you what you've said in the OP then it's a little disheartening and may not be worthwhile if it won't get you anywhere.

Saying that though I would certainly seek a second and possible third opinion before making a decision.

The family had an appointment today with a lawyer to see where they stood and were told that because of the man's age (90) we wouldnt really have a case as he could pass away in the meantime and there would be a massive bill at the end of it with nobody to pay it. He also said that with it being so long ago, there would probably be no trace of any evidence with banks etc on having documents regarding the land and property owned, however we still think we may have a case as we have proof that he owned all of this and that he was married so all of his assets should automatically go to the family.

IANAL but this seems a little odd to me. Even if he dies the property still exists and can surely still be returned to you, he'll just be beyond punishment. It's not like you can rob a bank, kill yourself and deed the stolen moneys to your family in your will is it?

This crooked thief has stolen from your family. Who cares how old they are? There is no way I would let this go. Fight, to the death if necessary.
