Hey guys,

Just built a new system based around the Core i7 930 and I have just attempted my first OC on the CPU. Have run Prime 95 for just over an hour @ 3.52Ghz and the temps climb to around the 75 Degree C mark.

CPU Idles at around 39 Degree C with a Zalman CNPS10X-Quiet cooling it.

Does this sound about right to you?

System Spec:
Intel i7 930
Asus P6X58D-E Intel X58
Corsair XMS3 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 12800C9 (1600MHz)

Still have some head room left then, low 80's or less is what most aim for, ofcourse lower the better.

So you could still push abit more if u wanted too.

But when summer is over ofcourse you can allways clock abit more due to lower ambients.

Cool :) Just wasn't sure what the thresholds for the i7's were.

Also its around 60degree when under apps such as 3D Mark and any games so seems fine.

Kept Turbo on too so it seems to take it up to near 3.6GHz automatically, seems perfectly stable so far.

And your right, certainly after summer I can look at it further but my room is tiny and sooooo hot right now its insane!

more to the point, who is the cheeky monkey in your Sig?
The temps you quote seem fine to me.
