"Injunction" on my car :(

The car has a ventilation system, so it wouldn't become a total cocoon unless you intentionally switched it off.

I have been in small rooms with a number of people smoking it, and have smoked it myself, and the two effects were massively different. The former is nothing you can't get from eating a chocolate bar :p

MMMM Chocolate. :D

By smoking it could you have not built up an immunity to it?

It was sort of the other way round (as you'd expect). I was in rooms with people smoking it before I decided to try it myself. I've never had anything more than a very small feeling from even really dense smoke.

Ah OK, I feel the discussion of my analogy has dragged this waaaaay ot. :D

Car ventilaton systems often just circulate the same air. I mentioned this earlier, but research has been done on normal smoking in cars and they found that passive smoking effects where excarabated. There's no reason to suspect that weed would be any different.

Even as a passenger ?

I would drink it as a passenger, drinking is not illegal as a passenger iirc. There is also a simple and quick test to check that the driver was not drinking.

Of course I would check that it was OK with the driver first.

They don't normally circulate the same air, they normally draw in new air. If you have a more complex system it may have a recirculation mode, but this is rarely the default and usually has to be switched on.

I don't think my Civic has anything special, but it quite often just recircs the air in auto!

Regardless, it doesn't change the research.

What a thread. I'm so glad we could have a thread about using and abusing cannabis in the middle of the motors forum when the op was about having a marker on his car.

We've got great attitudes from "its alright" to "no wonder everyone hates us". Paranoid much or is that the proof the cannabis makes you paranoid I wonder. Dear god, is it any wonder this country is in the mess its in?

The fact of the matter is that the op allowed someone to commit a crime in his car and did nothing about it. He got caught. Its his fault and wherever he goes in his car he will likely be stopped. He got away very lightly considering what could have happened, so will people please remove that stinking great chip off their shoulder.

What if the op had become impaired enough he ploughed into a group of people. Would you be so quick to berate the police? I don't care what scientific evidence you think you have based on your own opinion, saying a car has sufficient ventilation etc, I go on facts, not opinion.

The OP did mention open windows at some point, which would change things I think.

Anyway, I think the thread has drifted off course somewhat, the OP was complaining that the police had assumed him guilty of DUI due to his car smelling of cannabis, that is NOT a reasonable assumption, it's like someone being covered in blood and being charged with GBA.

He also asked about being on the ANPR system, which I doubt many people here have any actual knowledge of, except for guessing..really he'll have to see what happens, or visit his local police station and ask.

Here's where it gets a bit dodgy, my friends had been drinking and smoking in the car while we were driving and so the policeman smelt weed as soon as I'd rolled down my window. I explained everything to him and he grabbed my keys and told me to get out of the car.

Yeah, when the police got there :D

I was writing my post while you said all that, but I think it still stands. And the bit about not caring about scientific evidence based on personal opinion, yet then mentioning facts which seem to be based on your own opinion seems a bit silly...

Meh, I don't want to get in a argument with you, mainly because I agree with a large portion of your post.

Please submit these scientific facts that you have based on your opinion on. Because, simply, you are wrong. How does that feel?

Sat smugly, safe in the knowledge I am distanced enough from "that crowd" to not even knowing what a "Q" actually is. :D
