hi,
i previously had installed a 7800gtx with latest nvidai drivers on a windows 7 ultimate system.
I removed the gfx card, and fitted the nvidia gts 40, connected the power pin, and attatched the hdmi cable to the hdmi interface on the card.
Windows seemed to detected the card, and even windows update ran and attmepted to install an old version of the driver. Which i cancelled. I proceeded to install latest drivers for this card. Everything seemed ok, but upon reboot, the standard vga driver keeps installing itself.
ive tried overr and over again uninstalling nvidia drivers, standard vga drivers, in safe mode, using driver sweeper. But to no avail. some of the errors have been:
you do not have an attached display to an nvidia gpu, the driver could not find compatible hardware.
HELP PLEASE.
System Specs
Asus P5B-Deluxe Mobo, C2D e6600 @ 2.4 on stock, innod3d GTS450, 2GB kingston pc5300 ram, windows 7 ultimate.
I dont want to have to rebuild my operating system from scratch, so if anyone knows any fail proof method to get this resolved.. im most grateful!
