Hm might be driving an invalid resolution your monitor doesn't support. Are you seeing the bios/POST when booting?

Might wanna try onboard to see if you can get back into windows firstly. Also make sure your bios is set to display graphics via PCIe.

no using the 7970

stuck my 6870 in and its boots into windows

dont understand, i set it to a low res so it would boot with the 7970

i have a zotac h55itx-a-e 1156 mini itx

Hm I'd try wipe drivers, reboot with the new card installed and try install them again, it's possible something went wrong but beyond that it's looking likely the card is at fault, do you happen to have another system you can test it on?

No cant test it, only have a laptop

weird how it wont boot into windows safe mode

I notice on the splash screen and in the bios that there's weird red lines going across the screen

the card was a b grade, but I assumed that the card had been fully tested by ocuk
Maybe its a bad card then.
