So im planning on doin a (my first ever)CPU loop in my freshly built cube.

Im not really one for cracking out a dremel,so one of my main ideas of mounting a Monsoon D5 res in the ODD bay is now dead(It would have badass tho :D)

So what i want instead to to have a tube res mounted in the main chassis.

Id really like the res mounted via the top 4 vertical grommets between the front intakes and the Mobo.So when looking in it will look like its suspended there vertically.(I also know how i could fill a res mounted like this too )

Its hard to tell but i think it might be possible with some of these,,but im not sure, anyone shed some light?
YOUR BASKET
1 x PrimoChill 80mm AGB CTR System Phase II - Green £38.99
1 x XSPC Photon 170 Tube Reservoir £37.99
1 x Bitspower Z-Multi 80mm Water Tank £34.98
1 x Aqua Computer Aqualis ECO 100ml Reservoir £31.99
Total : £153.55 (includes shipping : £8.00).

For now im only setting up a CPU loop, not sure if i ever wanna invest the cash in GPU watercooling,as i tend to switch out GPU's often.

My loop order would be Res>pump>rad>Cpu block>Rez The pump would either be mounted at the front bottom of the case,or above the PSU.Im not 100% sure yet,i need to figure out the res first as it will affect what would be the lowest point of the loop. The rad would be a 240mm on the top

I have a last resort method of mounting an Ek pump/res combo the the front via the EK fan bracket thingy.Although i think that would be a little cluttered.

Pic of my current build, excuse the JJ.Abrahms levels of lens flare,i think my fone is on Acid or something :p Prob doesnt help the angle i took it as is kinda crappy either lol

Any input welcome(and needed!)

I has figured out how to do it with minimal fuss
Remove ODD bay, drill holes in it at the right areas to mount EK uni holders on it,so that they come out through the top right gromet sitting just infront of the intake fans.Should be able to mount a small tube res their :)

heres my parts list that is near certain now for order this week(hopefully),Unless i made a mistake somwhere?

Gonna get a phoybia 150 res ,as its size better suits the res placement i have in mind.Although the primochill ctrs are extremely tempting

Hi there, not seen this thread before!

I'm struggling to see what your problem is? where to mount the pump and or res?

In my 540 I have an EK DCP4.0 pump/res sat on top of the PSU in the back. Leaves loads of room up front then :)

Very sexy pics ^^ :)

Im wanting to mount a tube res in the front of the case, aswell as keeping all 3 intake fans.It was trouble figuring out a way to mount one their when space and neatness concerns.Initally i was gonna use ek 120mm fan holder bracket, but i was concerned with placement,on the middle fan any res would quite low getting tin the GPU's way, having one on the top intake would make it potentially difficult to fill. Also the depth could be come an issue potentially with a 60/75mm diameter res getting awful close to the motherboard.

Gonna put the pump/top in the back of case tho.Either above the PSU, or on the bottom under the ODD bay, will make that final choice when i get round to fitting.

I think uniholders bottled into the ODD bay(which i will have to drill myself) is the most practical method of mounting a tube where i want it,and most likely the cleanest looking.

The phoybia res's arnt quite as deep as the EK ones,so it shouldnt look too cluttered when fitted.I still really like the look of the Primochill CTR's tho, very smart

My OCD demands that I put the res in the front where I can see it, but in truth it probably makes more practical sense to put it in the dark side.

And don't worry about your loop order, as long as the res feeds the pump inlet that's all that matters.

This is my thinking exactly, :D

Still liking the look of the primochill CTR's,but they refer to 3 inlets on the top and 3 outs on the bottom.I cant find any clarfication if this means you defiantly cant have the in and out on the same end? If you could i would get this instead of the phobia

in those pictures that Ek res only fits by the graphics card because that block has the inlet/outlet on the underside (as opposed to sticking out) which GPU block are you going to use?

sorry if this is hijacking the thread but this may also provide insight to OP

I have this res in the picture and if I was able to use one of these adapters you have shown I may be able to get the res in the front:

basically when I built this the res could go there but the side window wouldnt fit on

I looked at ways of mounting a photon but I couldn't figure a way that wouldn't require some not so minor case alterations, unless your happy sacrificing the front intake fans and raidiators ,it has too much depth otherwise 75mm diameter.Front if case to the mobo is only 105mm,mounting plate screws are an odd distance too 129mm between top and bottom screwholes

With fans on the outside of the front 360 rad it would be possible to mount the res onto the 360 rad itself if you made a bracket up. I'm actually looking to do that next week some time, so I'll post pictures when I'm done.

the bit that prevents the window being on seems to be the pump on the bottom of the res, could it be separated quite easily??

I can't see how you can reduce that overhang. The res is a bit bulky for the front of the case by the looks of it. I take it you have the res mounted in the back?

yeah it's now at the back above the PSU, may change it to a smaller one someday

Yea that sounds like it could work actually will be interested to see how that works out m8

So heres my final basket, gets ordered in the morning.Getting an 80mm bitspower res from OCuk now instead of the phoybia from elsewhere.Damo hooked me up in the CS section,so i feel compelled to get everything from here now,and its in budget too :D
