Hello lads, my first post here at Overclockers.co.uk, lets hope it will be a good one:)
(Sorry for the danish prices, i will add total cost in sterling pound in the very end)

I've finally decided to toss my 4y-old 300£ computer, and so far I've looked at these components:

GFX
Sapphire RADEON HD 4850 X2 (Detailsalg)
(2 GB)

Motherboard

Asus Commando Republic of Gamers Motherboard

CPU

Intel E8500 "Wolfdale"

RAM

Ram 4gb Corsair XMS2 Dominator

Harddiskdrive

Hdd Samsung Spinpoint F1

Case

Kabinet Antec Performance OneP182

Maybe my friend has a CM Stacker 830 I can have, so will wait on this one.

Powersupply

PSU Corsair HX620W

CPU cooler

Scythe Ninja 2

Total cost of ca. 991 Sterling Pounds

Any ideas are very welcome, besides, what do you think the E8500 can be overclocked to with the scythe ninja 2 cooler?

Sorry for spelling and gramma.

Kind Regards Magnus from Denmark:)

first off i'd remove all the links if i was you, just to be on the safe side, not sure if the competitor rules are just UK or anywhere.

Your not allowed to post competitors prices on this forum, and I still don't think its allowed even if your posting links from a danish site as overclockers will ship overseas.

I've noticed the other posts being quite strict, but "edbpriser.dk" is not an actual shop, its like pricerunner or whatever you have, besides they don't ship to UK so its a very small margin that can actual benefit from buying from Denmark.. Not to mention how low the pound is.

Still tho mate, rules are rules and we will still know the products your talking about without the links, seen people banned for less. :)

i'd swap the 4850 x2 for a 4870 1gb, mobo wise have a look at the asus p45 p5q series or the gigabyte p45 series ( i have a p45 ds3 and its very nice).

aside from that it looks fine, 8500 should clock to 3.5-4ghz, depends on the voltages needed/temps, maybe change the cooler to the Thermalright TRUE Black 120 if possible with suitable 120mm fan.

How many watts do you recommend for the system? And any reason taking 4870x1 over 4850x2? Im planning to use 2 screens and eventually 42" plasma tv, resolution with the computerscreens will be 1600x1050 most likely.

the 4870 would do the job on 2 screens at that resolution, couldnt see a need for the 4850x2, and depends how quickly the "eventually" is on the plasma tv, if its fairly soon then you'll need either 2 cards or the 4850x2.

the 620w should be fine for what you have listed.
