The original RRP on this unit was close to £2000, now it is £1199 for a laptop with GTX 880M 8GB which I believe outperforms GTX 970M, it features i7 processor, 16GB RAM and 2x256GB SSD and 1TB HDD. Making it the best value for money laptop we sell considering the specification and performance. :)

Says £1399.

Hi varkanoid,

Product has been at OcUK for a while and when first ranged it was £1,899...

It has varied in price between £1,899 and £1,499 whilst we gave support to OcuK on the price.

SO yes, the most recent price it has been at was £1,399 last week, so this is why the THIS WEEK ONLY price shows this as the discounted price, but as outlined here, the discount is actually far more substantial considering the spec.

Hope that clarifies.

970M is actually a bit faster than the 880M I believe (and uses less power), but still strong performer :)

Hi Alexrose1uk,

You are correct this GPU is approx. 6% lower performance than GTX970m, but when considering the whole spec if the machine we believe this is the best value to performance ratio laptop on the market today.

Its actually very close,,,

ON 3dMark11 benchmark

GTX880M scores approx. 8,500

GTX970M scores approx. 9,000

So about 6% difference.

Oh yes no doubt. If I was in the market for a machine right now this would be right there in my hot list, I just wanted to make it clear on gpu performance contrary to the OP so no one was dissapointed. It's a lovely spec :)

As a past several time Clevo owner myself, they do some fantastic machines, BUT if you have any issues, you are completely dependant on the service centre local to you/supplier to resolve. And sometimes that can take a long time, dependant on how common the fault is, or what it is.

Can't imagine that's an issue with Gigabyte in the same way....

Shame OcUK isn't doing much in this (Clevo) line recently.

Doesn't seem like that great a deal stacked up against a Clevo to be honest.

Haven't kept up with Clevo specs in awhile but I'd have thought you'd struggle to get an all around spec that beats the price - its not a bad price at all for an i7, 16GB RAM and a couple of SSDs in a 15" chassis.

I've seen something based off a Clevo P650SE with similar specs, no SSDs, but with a 4K screen for less.
