I haven't checked if theirs any back-light bleed, played shadows of mordor and it looked brilliant

and yep its all connected via dvi

How does this compare to the S27B970D anyone know?

970D is superior panel wise, but maybe not as qood quality housing wise.

Can anyone with this check the backlight bleed in a dark room?

It's an IPS panel so it will most likely have some form of IPS glow which looks very much like bleed.
