Insights for 2012

I think my dad is talking about the period of 2nd to 12th? We usually stay at this place http://www.royalpark.com.hk/
Nice  We have an apartment in HK hence living out in the sticks as the main city is waayyy too busy.

Looking forward to:
Not being single for a change. :)
Are you with someone now then, or do you *know* that you will find someone?
For me, not being single would also be nice but it's not on my list because I don't actually mind being single and it's not my top priority at the moment :p

I don't like to think of years ending and beginning, they simply carry on.
You review how the current year as been for you, think about what you've done/how you've done it/what you can and will do to improve it and what you would like to happen in the new year.

At least that's how I like to think of it. Business minded :o

HK is small enough anyway to meet up really easily, my cousin lives in Stanley and we normally meet up when she finishes work for dinner, she knows more places than I do. Unfortunately we don't have a flat, my uncles does but it's full so we just rent a couple of rooms for a week or so.

This year I plan to find new ways of working to accomodate the massive paycut the NHS are sending my way. The Norn Iron system is to be slammed hard, and there looks little to no way out.

That aside it would be nice to move house, not to anything much bigger but in a location better for schooling which will be needed in a few years.

I plan to watch and participate in my daughters growing up.

I am also looking forward to seeing some of the olympics on tv, not overly sporty but I think it will be a nice distraction midyear.

Looking forward to rescuing more people and some interesting events! :p

Nah: Looking forwards to my GCSEs for some reason...

2011 has been the worst year of my life, fact.

Next year will be better.

Oh I'm also cutting alcohol out of my life, it does me no favours.

For me, I am looking forward to:

- Going on holiday to Greece
- Going to Australia to see my Dad for a few weeks
- Having a Weekend in Milton Keynes to see family
- My car insurance to go down in June

Plan to:

- Upgrading my phone to the iPhone 5 when ever that comes out
- Upgrading and putting in a water loop in my system
- Buy a 600D and create a new film
- Take lots of nice photos

Hope for:

- Lots of good things to happen to me this year, I shall see what my life brings me :)

This year hasn't been bad - passed my A-Levels, had a slightly bizarre relationship, got into a relatively good university, got a lovely bunch of flatmates in halls and more recently kicking some backside in iSketch.

Looking forward to:
Two new semesters. Woop.

Plan to:
Go to the gym more often I guess.
Proposition potential flat sharers for the next academic year.

Hope for:
Find a team of video game making hopefuls and take the world by storm.
Get firsts in all of my modules next year.
New flat mates to be relatively agreeable people.

Good idea for a thread MisChief :)

For 2012 I'm looking forward to:

  • Continuous good health.
  • and a continuous happy marriage with a lovely wife.
Plan to:
  • Get myself physically fitter than I am at present - I'm no slouch but more can and will be done. :)
  • Do some sort of charity work.
  • Eat much more healthily and instead of loosing weight try to bulk up a little.

Hope for:

  • Paying another substantial amount off my mortgage - it all adds up and will allow me to work part time eventually
  • A Huge lottery win :D

Interesting thread! Some similar themes throughout a lot of people's posts too, career / more money / progression etc. All fair of course! Lots of house buying plans / saving for deposit plans too!

Mine would have to be:

Looking forward to:
being more fit
winter being over
holiday with the gf.

plan to:
save more money and not just buy everything in site. this comment is in direct conflict with the next one.
sell the winter 4x4 and buy a better / newer one.

hope to:
get back to vegas in 2012.
really push the gym more
the economy getting better and shares going up, resulting in less requirement to actually 'save' cash as such :p

How about skydiving and fundraise for charity? :D

Another good call - but I really don't have a head for heights, it would take you to get me up in a plane - let alone jump out of one

I was thinking more along the lines of staying "terra firma" and perhaps a charity mountain bike ride or something like that? :p

need to quit the smokes and stop drinking so much on a saturday night. if i can do this, i plan to get uber fit, if i can't do it, i still intend to try and get uber fit.

Hopefully 2012 is the year my online business gets established and I can quit the crappy rat race that is working in IT.

Looking forward to being fitter than last year and thus entering more bicycle races, endurance races and generally more cycling and mountaineering (health permitting)

Finally looking forward to a week or two away for my 9th wedding anniversary in both mine and my wife's most favourite place - Whitby.

Looking forward to:

- A 'group' February birthday celebration with a few of my friends, as a handful of us all have birthdays in February. Our current line of thinking was a nice hotel somewhere, maybe a function room. Definitely a pool, sauna, all that jazz.

I can't think of owt else :(

Plan to:

- See more of the world, or at the very least Europe (road trip)
- Start saving money properly. I'm absolutely terrible at it
- Find a new job (see below for conditions)

Hope for:

- a proper promotion / payrise at work. It's been promised and pushed back, so if nothing of value comes to light, I shall be looking for alternative employment, as above.
- No disasters. No surprises.
