insignia 1.8VVTI

Decent enough cars but the worst engine imaginable. The 1.8 is hugely under-powered for this car and the only thing the engine produces when you press the accelerator is noise, the car doesn't move.

My 14 year old 1.6 focus has similar 0-60 time (for what thats worth) and appears to be less economical. By the power of some limited logical deduction I would say it is a poor choice, but then I know a lot less than a lot of people on here about cars. Just my 2c :)

That car is priced at LESS than the amount WBAC offer for it..
Your right which given they tend to offer peanuts for cars you have to wonder why it's so cheap? (Disregarding the fact it's a bland boring car in the first place)

It's either hiding some large impending bills or, is it a scam?

There are quite a few 2011 models for between 4.5k-5k on AT but most have done about 60-70k. There's even a few 2012 models private for 5k:eek: surprised at how cheap they are compared to the Mondeo etc.
So it's not massively underpriced maybe he's just sick of it and I doubt there's much of a buyers market for a gutless 1.8 petrol Insignia the majority want the diesels

Thanks for the feedback. I will have a look and see what else I can find but will take a look at this also. I think she is quite keen.

N/A Vauxhall Petrol engines of the last 10 years are incredibly dire, best avoided like the plague imho

That's kind of the point though, this one is less than 4.5k and has done half the mileage of everything your comparing it too. It's no bad thing, but it does make it seem strange to me.

Right so we went and had a look at the car. I w being sold by a nice family guy / professional. It's been servieced every year and only had 2 owners.

It seems like a clean car and she bought it for 4.1k.

Not the best engine but I could not find anything better for the money.

But they do give that impression though :D Naff cars, awful brand, terrible company.
The Astra I recently got for one of our employees is actually very pleasant, in the Elite Nav spec that we chose anyway. Of course the engines aren't going to set your world on fire but they're punchy enough for a business car and there's a decent amount of tech. For the price we pay I think it's a pretty good choice when compared with the competition (for leasing anyway).

I do agree that there's a lot in their range which doesn't exactly look promising but if the new Astra is anything to go by then I think they're trying to change their image.
