I've just done a fresh install of Windows XP and downloaded the drivers/updates etc. and installed them.

I'm after a program that will let me make an image of this fresh install so when i want to reformat my PC again i can just put the CD or DVD of this image into the drive and install it onto the empty HDD and have Windows there ready and waiting as it is at this moment in time.

Hope my explanation makes sence :)

Thanks.

I've had Acronis True Image since January and just had to use it to recover my OS. I have drive C: as the primary partition of three on my HDD, and after a minor glitch with deciding what to restore (full partition of just Windows folder), I chose the full partition and it seems to have worked fine. The logical partions on the same HDD are unaffected, which I was slightly concerned about.

You should find Acronis True Image 9 for about £18.
