Hi,

Just updated my M225 SSD to the latest Firmware and now about to install Win 7 but do I:-

a) Install Win 7 direct onto the SSD (assuming its picked up in the install options), or

b) Install Win 7 on one of my Samsung F3 drives and then clone (image?) it across?

I've heard various people extolling both options and don't know what to do for best?

Thanks,

I would imagination install onto the sdd, then make a full backup for when you do it all again.

Thanks guys - there was a suggestion that it was better for an SSD to have it installed via a clone (to do with the SSD 'fragmentation' I gather) but I have heard that it causes problems too as regards the drivers for SSD drives!

At the moment a direct install is favoured....

Just install Windows normally, set all your programs up and then run the Intel SSD Toolbox optimiser (manual TRIM), will be like new then.

Make sure your SSD is updated to latest firmware though, which is required for the Toolbox to work.

Where do you find the Intel SSD Toolbox optimiser?
