Hi guys,

I just got a western digital 2400 NVMe 1tb ssd.

This is my first NVMe drive so I'm a little unsure what the best slot in my motherboard is. My motherboard is a gigabite z270 gaming 3. I'm going to do a fresh windows install and this is purely a gaming computer.

I haven't opened the side of the case yet but it looks to me like it has 3 slots for it. The top one looks like it might get hot because it's in between my gtx 1080 and my 9700k cooler.

Does is it matter what slot I use?

Anything else important I need to know about using or installation of nvme?

You may find using the NVMe slot disables some of the SATA ports, you should check which ones. That was true of my old Gigabyte Gaming 7 board
