hi, im pretty new to building Pc's so i need some help on this task i have. I recently built a Pc and my 80gb Hard drive just isnt big enough. So i want to buy a bigger Hard drive and install it. Now thats the info i need..How to install it. this is what im guessing you do

1. Put HD in case and connect up Sata Data and power cable.
2. Boot up PC and enter Bios and make sure its picked it up.
3. Now the new Hard drive is under "My computer" as e:/ or something like that.

This right or wrong?

Thanks Ryan

Also what hard drive does anyone recommend? I have a maxtor and its a noisy bugger so i think im gonna steer away from then now on. I was something about 250GB and no less than 160GB With a price of about £60 max. Oh and another thing can someone explain raid to me? As i dont understand it!

You more or less have all the steps (such as they are) however you may need to go to Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Computer Management - Drive Management to format the hard drive so that Windows can utilise the drive. :)

As for hard drive you could do a lot worse than the Samsung 250gb if you are after quiet.

ahh right thanks for that Semi, thats a lot cheaper than i expected aswell. I was always wondering If i used my 80Gb for windows would i be able to save my games, programs etc onto the 250gb hard drive? Or do the Programs under start have to be on the Widnows Hard Drive if you understand what im saying lol.
