'Installed memory' worry?

In My Computer, my installed memory reads 8GB (2x4GB). However in brackets next to this it says '7.69 GB usable.

Is this something I should be concerned about? Just worried I'm being had out of some resources perhaps? I read somewhere (can't quite remember where) that there may be a way to get rid of the information in these brackets.

Thanks

Dave

Good little work horse of a card, and one if not the best 7850, I started with one and it used to max the clocks, and played all games with ease

Seconding the 7850, it's an excellent card for the price. Just be weary of the ones with the blackscreening issue if you're buying second hand.

Thanks guys, always good to hear.

I have since been tempted by a 7870 though! There's not too much of a difference in price. We'll see. I'm not fussed about it just yet anyway.

i beleive the 7870 is meant to be a 7950 with a gig less vram, or something along those lines. if you can get it cheap then good on ye

I'm not after anything particularly fast or top-end. I'd like a nice quiet card which can handle 1080p gaming. That's about it.

I'll check out some reviews and go from there. *heads on over to the 'Deals of the Week' section
