Installing a 2nd SATA II HD - Question

Adding a 2nd one for storage and keeping the original one for programs.

Do I simply connect the 2nd drive to the MOBO? or do I also need to connect these two drives together too?

PS - I'll be wanting to transfer 100GIG or so straight to the new HD.

plug it in and format it and you should be good to go
At worst you might have to go into disk management to activate it.
