Does anyone know of a good detailed instruction (be it links, or a document you know of) which I can send to a complete novice to show him how to install a hard disk.
Just something easy that explains master / slave on each IDE Cable.

I cannot find anything easy online at all (suprisingly)

Your help is appreciated.

If he can't even follow/understand a simple guide courtesy of Google (here), then shouldn't be attempting such a task!

try harddrives manufacturer websites they seem to have flash installation guides these days...

or possibly may have a detailed PDF file he can print out

good luck

we all have to learn sometime hey :)

I think that if google turns nothing up for the novice then you would prolly have to write it yourself. Should beable to sum it up in a few sentances.
Maybe even a free hand drawing explaining the master/slave, if your feeling very adventerous maybe even load up MSPaint :D
