Installing a new Gigabyte switch

just got a new switch to go into a very crowded cabinet.

thing is ive never put one in before. is there a special way it needs to be connected, or can it be connected to any port on one of the other swtiches??

That'll very much depend on the logical topology of your network and devices used tbh

if you're just using it to connect users to the network with only 1 VLAN it probably would work, but I'd say plan it properly anyway (in the long run it avoids headaches)

theres so many wires in the cabinet i cant see how anything is connected it really is ridiulous. ive managed to connect anway and all the lights are flashing green, and everything appears to be working so im happy enough

Naah, if he worked at Telehouse he would have never found the cab for starters.
