The more I look at this the more complicated it gets ! As far as I can tell the procedure is as follows...

1) undo OC
2) Unplug old HDD
3) Change storage to AHCI in BIOS
4) Plug in new Vertex 2e 120Gb to Intel sata ports (blue)
5) Install W7 64 to Vertex
6) Install Intel RST drivers (not sure how to do this)
7) Open RST in system tray and check that disk data cache is ennabled
8) Run WEI
9) Disable drive indexing and any defrags
10) Check that write back cache is enabled in device manager.
11) Profit !

Then there's the problem of the SMART error. If so, I'll need to Flash the BIOS. Which I have no idea how to do.

Can anyone tell me

a) If I've got the procedure above right ?
b) How install Intel RST drivers ?
b) How do you flash the Gigabyte mainboard ?

Thanks in advance

1)remove old hardrive.
2)install new hardrive.
3)install windows 7 64 bit.
4)run wei.
5) profit!!

Well thats what i did with me vertex 2e 64gb one.
There are a couple of other things u can do but thats ^^ about it.
and i never install more drivers, i may be crazy but everything always seems to work perfectly until i install more and more drivers!!
and as far as flashing your gigabyte board you should not need to do it for the vertex drive, but if u do its as simple as downloading the bios of the gigabyte website getting a usb stick putting the bios file on the usb stick restarting your pc.
Then starting the bios flash program for that motherboard. (there will be instructions to doing so in the gigabyte motherboard manual)

Hmmmmm. Seems too easy. Are you sure ?
