installing an os on a external... ?

basically what do i need to do

what type of partition do i need to create and how do i install then load it up ????

im wanting to instal

Vista and Ubuntu

and ive got a 250 gb WD to install on

Is it external SATA/SCSI?

If it's USB/Firewire - Don't even try.
(Will not work)

If it's external SATA/SCSI, then just install the drivers as normal (F6) and away you go.
Install as standard.
