how do i do this? i've downloaded the drivers (http://www.zdnetasia.com/downloads/pc/swinfo/0,39043052,50002423r-39492723s,00.htm) and now i'm lost. this download gives me the folders; Netware, nt4, win 9x, win2000. ermmm i'll stop typing as i am completely lost. anyone got any ideas.?
i've download some other drivers which apparently do the job too. in their readme they say to install in dos using a floppy disk. i dont have a floppy drive but could get my hands on a memory stick if this is required.. as i say i have absolutly no idea about what needs to be done, so i pray to the ocuk gods for assistance. (also i'm running server 2008 64 bit)

Windows 2008 needs Vista drivers. Chances are, if your scsi card is a common one, it'll have a driver already built in. If not, go to the manufactor of your cards site and look for drivers there, don't be downloading silly drivers like the ones you posted above.

Just put the card in, Windows 2008 will have its own drivers, or it will get them from the net.

i've done that, it doesn't find them, and tries searching online and again doesn't find them. then when i point them to the files i downloaded it doesn't work either

I don't think you'll find x64 drivers for that card (AHA-2930CU). From a quick Google it would appear that the x86 support is a bit flaky as well.

What's the intended purpose of the card? I assume it's for a scanner or something similar rather than for storage?

yep for a scanner. i have xp 32-bit installed on another partition. i guess switching between when i want to scan is the only option then?
(how do i actually go about installing these files???)

You may be better of tracking down a Adaptec 29160N which has the correct 50pin external connector and does have Vista x64 support. The Adaptec 19160 may also be an option. You should be able to get either card for under £20.

i think for the moment i would rather stick to using my 32 bit xp for when i want to do some scanning. i need to get myself a new cable too bit am unsure which i need. just a 50m and 50 f scsi like

for the moment i would rather get the cable and stick to xp, but how on earth do i install these 32bit drivers??

Assuming your scanner has a Centonics style SCSI connector then that looks like the correct cable.

Are you asking how to install the 32bit drivers on Vista64 or XP? If you're talking about Vista64 then I'm fairly sure that you can't. If it's XP what problems are you having?

just loaded up xp and it installed the drivers by itself, so i guess its sorted now. in regards to the cable i need i want to be 1000000% sure, so heres a picture of the cable i have at the moment, just the end that plugs into the scanner.

and here is what i have on on the scsi card,

sooo, can anyone tell me what cable i need to buy?
thankyou !
