Installing and program folders

When installing a game does it make any diffence if you install it in "program files" or "program files (x86)", I relise one in 32-bit the other 64-bit, but performance wise is there anything in it?

doesn't matter.

I don't even install games on the same drive as my operating system.

Between folders: No
Between partitions: yes, because the inner platters are slower than the outside ones, depending on where the partition is physically you should install it on the fastest part.
Between HDD's: Yes, A 4x raptorX Raid 0 will destroy even a 1tb hitachi 32 mb drive ( same as the hitachi beats any old 80 gb 7200.7 or something)...

Got bf2 on a RAID 0 of 2 7200.10's seagates and I'm always the first when loading the next map.
