ok guys.
just confirm this is right.
got the new bios from gigabyte's website. I extract it and put it on a floppy and restart with the floppy being the first boot device. It should do it's thing and (probably) restart. I press [delete], reset boot order and all should be well.

just installed it. I've got the latest one from the internet and unpacked it to a folder on my desktop. Do i point it to the 'zip' file or the extracted files. Also, do i highlight all of them or just one. I have
965pds3.f3
autoexec
flash895

You need to create a dos based bootable floppy disk. Then copy all three files to the same floppy.

Boot your system from the floppy disk and the system will run the autoexec file which in turn will load the flash program. When it completes, reset the system. Job Done.

BE VERY CAREFUL!! Make a mistake or stop the flash while it is still running and you could leave your mainboard in a non working state.

Got to add that warning in but apart from that unless you do something you should'nt have these things don't normally go wrong. Good Luck =)

Using the Gigabyte utility you should be able to flash without a floppy, the app just flashes the BIOS from windows.

On my NForce 3 and 4 boards I used Winflash to flash the BIOS.

yay. All done . Thanks minstadave. Was kinda easy really ( but only if you know how )

I've now upped my fsb to 280 ( small steps) but cpuz is reporting my bus speed at 1120. Does this go up also. seem to think when others post screenies it always stays the same

The bottom left box says
core speed 2520
multi 9
fsb 280
bus speed 1120
