Is it possible to run older IE versions (ie. 6/7) on Windows 8 64-bit?

I have an online banking system I need to access and I can't get one of the functions to generate a PDF "Only displaying secure content" this doesn't change no matter what security settings I change . Apparently was designed for IE6/7, so want to give that a go (if possible ...)

Never used VM before - don't have it installed on this Win 8 either.

Tried compatibility view - I'm trying to view statement which is shown as PDF, doesn't give me option to download just "Access denied"

Chrome doesn't load the pop-up at all

Going to try Firefox

Had it working on my other laptop through IE but that has died on me unfortunately :(

No luck in Firefox either, going to try the VM way.

Their FAQs clearly haven't been updated in a while :p :

What are the minimum system requirements?
Customers need Personal computer or Notebook (Pentium II or higher), 64MB RAM, serial port for modem, Internet connection (Internet Explorer 5.5 and above or Netscape 4.0).
