Installing programmes to SD card?

I've just ordered a new laptop, but the drive is only 4,200rpm (or is it 4,700rpm?).

Would it be advantageous to install games on a 4GB SD card?

Whats the transfer rate of the SD card? For loading times etc I'd still expect the laptop drive to be better.

Well judging by that you will be better off going for the laptop anyway. Unless the hard drive is ridiculously slow.
