Hi
Im building my new system and im connecting SSD, HDD and CD/DVD.
Theres no numbering on the SATA connectors on the Gigabyte board.
I assume i can plug them into any connector in any order and theres no Master and Slave or a specific SATA connector for the Boot SSD.

Got it.
There 3 double ports and they are numbered.. Above 0 and 1 is SATA 3. ill put the SSD (which i intend to load windows on) in 0 0r 1.

Just plug the ssd and dvd drives in for now,ssd on first sata3 port dvd on last sata2 port

Once windows has installed plug in your hdd into first sata2 port

The BIOS scans the ports from lowest number first so you want most important drives on the lower # ports

Ahci is set by default on z87

To instal a sata cable you need the follow items,

Lube
Barry White
Beer....

Oh wait thats not Sata is it ..... Just plug the sdd in to the top port closest to the 24 pin and the pcb. This is port 0.
