OK i have a DVD marked "small business server 2011 premium addon" that installs windows 2009 standard server.

I have a sbs 2011 CD key

the windows that installed from the disk will not accept the CD key

I's assuming i have to "SBS" the windows 2008 standard installation...

and ideas how to make the 2008 server into SBS (bear in mind i did install it from a sbs2011 dvd)

Hi
You should also have another DVD marked Small Business Server 2011. If not, sound like you've only got the Premium Addon part.

There should be 4 Keys IRRC (1 for the SBS part Physical Install, 1 for the SBS VM Install, 1 for the additional Server 2008 the Premium Addon gives and 1 for the SQL Server).

Do you have these?

Taken from MSDN:

File Name: en_install_disc_windows_small_business_server_2011_standard_x64_dvd_611535.iso
Languages: English
SHA1: 74764B29F6C5BAFCB680D000F43E138C38A9A414

Google that and you'll find torrents etc (which is perfectly legal as you have the key), just use a hash checker to check the file you downloaded matches the SHA1 above - if it does, it's 100% untouched and original Microsoft.

If you still can't find it leave a note or trust me and I'll download it off MSDN for you to one of our servers and send the link.

Seems I don't have access to this with my MSDN subscription though. Not sure why, I get every other OS etc. Server 2012 datacentre? No problem. Cheap home server? No, shoo :p.
