installing second hard drive problems

Hi there,

I have installed an old IDE hard drive ATA66 with the pin as a main to use for back ups (my main one is a sata2) but windows does not boot up with the primary IDE option enable in bios.

do I have to set it up as a slave? or is maybe because I have an old windows installation on it (which I want to format but I don't have a floppy disk) ?

What is the boot order in the bios, is may be set to boot off ide before sata, which would explain why adding the ide drives stops your pc booting.

I don't see that option in the bios.

I will have a look again.
